Travel Advice – Holiday vaccinations
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the Practice Nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within the countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
Travel enquiries should be made at least 8 weeks ahead of travel. This is to ensure that there is sufficient time to make all the necessary enquiries into your trip and give correct safety and vaccination guidance, as well as giving the vaccinations if required.
Kelsall Medical Centre is only able offer the NHS Travel Vaccinations (Hepatitis A, Tetanus and Typhoid) recommended for your travel. You will need to seek travel advice from another service (often available at pharmacies) if you require any additional travel vaccinations and malaria prophylaxis.
If you require the NHS vaccinations please return to the Practice with the pre-travel assessment form completed and book the next available appointment with the Practice Nurse. If the next available appointment is not soon enough for your travel needs then you will need to pay for the injections at a travel clinic.
