FLU VACCINES UPDATE 2020
The priority this year is to vaccinate people who are most at risk from flu first, including people of all ages who have a health condition that makes them more at risk from developing the flu virus.
People aged 50 to 64 years, who do not have a health condition that puts them at risk from flu, will be offered the vaccine at a future date and should wait to be invited for a vaccination. In the meantime please do not contact the practice to enquire about a flu vaccine as the telephone lines are extremely busy.
The Practice orders flu vaccines twelve months in advance of them being administered. When this was done there was no indication that the immunisations would be extended to a larger group. We are currently still awaiting government instruction as to when and how the additional flu vaccines will be managed and will keep patients informed as soon as we have any further information.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
